Oooh, well this is interesting! Apparently the CW has decided to cast English actor Ben Aldridge in The Selection series, but he will be playing a character that does not exist in the books! Deadline reports that Aldridge is set to play someone named Prince Rafe who is actually going to be Prince Maxon's younger brother!

Prince Rafe does not exist in the series so it will be interesting to see how his role plays out in the show and ends up changing the plot of the novel! His character supposedly "loves his country and takes his leadership role seriously — but he does have a secret." Intriguing!

What do you think about the new character and the casting? Sound off in the comments below!

Whoa! You might know him best as Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but Anthony Head was just casted on CW's The Selection!! He is supposedly set to play Prince Maxon's father King Clarkson!

Martin Donovan was the king in the original pilot, but we could totally see Anthony Head as royalty!! According to Hollywood Reporter, "Clarkson is described as a seasoned leader and politico who warns his son, Maxon, that he'll have to give up any idea of romantic love and that his choice should be based on making a powerful political alliance."

What do you think about the new choice for King Clarkson? Now we're wondering who's going to be Queen Amberly! Maybe it will be another Buffy Kristine Sutherland (Buffy's mom). We could see it!

Finally! We've been complaining for weeks about how the only person not casted yet is Aspen Leger and the CW apparently heard us! Say hello to your new Aspen Leger: Lucien Laviscount!

The British actor has been on shows like Waterloo Road and Mount Pleasant and, in this new role, he will be playing the hometown love interest of America Singer who encourages her to join the televised battle for Prince Maxon's heart! He wants her to join in order to potentially better her station in life, but he joins the army and is later assigned to guard the palace in which the contest takes place!

In the original pilot, Aspen was played by William Moseley, so what do you think about the choice to cast Lucien Laviscount? Sound off in the comments below!

    CW Gets a Celeste

    March 1, 2013 by Gcheung28

More casting news today! According to TV Fanatic, the CW has just casted Celia Massingham in their pilot of The Selection! Who is she going to be? Massingham is going to play our favorite Selected to hate: Celeste Newsome!

For those of you unfamiliar with the book, Celeste is one of the higher ranked competitors in The Selection and considers herself better than the lower caste competitors like America Singer and Marlee Tames. Celeste is intimidating to the other girls because she is confidant and knows how to use her beauty when it comes to men, and she seems to be willing to do anything to win!

Do you think Celia Massingham can pull off a convincing act as Celeste? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
